First Phase of EVM Randomisation held at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, MARCH 22: The first phase of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) randomisation for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was today held in Baramulla, under the guidance and overall supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), Baramulla, Minga Sherpa.

ARO Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, Deputy Election Officer Baramulla, ARO Baramulla, ARO Rafiabad, ARO Pattan, ARO Gulmarg, and Nodal Officer EVM Management, as well as other officials from the District Elections office and representatives from political parties were present on the occasion.

During the first phase, EVMs, ballot units, control units and VVPATs were impartially allocated through the randomization process, thereby laying the groundwork for a credible electoral framework.

Following the completion of the randomization process, the report of randomisation for all 7 Assembly Constituencies was handed over to all political party representatives for their review and satisfaction.

Post- Randomisation, the EVMs will be securely transferred to dedicated strong rooms in their respective constituencies, adhering to stringent security protocols.

The DEO reiterated the commitment to upholding integrity, transparency, and utilizing dedicated software to minimize human intervention throughout the randomization process.

Prior to the Randomization process, Political representatives were comprehensively briefed about the procedures, instilling confidence in the integrity of the electoral process and affirming their commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the polls

Subsequent phases of randomization will continue to ensure the equitable allocation of EVMs to polling stations while upholding the highest standards of security and transparency.
