First randomisation of counting staff held in Poonch
POONCH, OCTOBER 01: District Election Officer (DEO) Poonch, Vikas Kundal today conducted the first randomization of counting staff ahead of the counting of votes for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections.
The process is designed to ensure transparency and fairness in the upcoming counting of votes for the three Assembly Constituencies—Surankote, Haveli and Poonch.
The counting of votes is scheduled to be held on October 8, 2024, at Deenanath Rafiq Memorial Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Poonch. The randomization involved selecting 219 Counting Supervisors and Counting Assistants, along with 88 Micro Observers, who will oversee the counting process.
The event held at DC Office Poonch, was attended by senior district officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Saleem Ahmed, Deputy DEO; Parvinder Singh, Joint Director NIC Poonch and other senior officials.
The randomization process was conducted through dedicated software in accordance with the prescribed guidelines of the Election Commission of India, ensuring fairness and impartiality in the selection of polling staff.
