First Randomization of EVMs, VVPATs conducted in Jammu

JAMMU, AUGUST 24: The first Randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) units for the upcoming Assembly Elections in Jammu District was successfully completed today under the supervision of the District Election Officer Sachin Kumar Vaishya.


The randomization was held in the presence of Returning Officers and representatives from various political parties. The Randomization process was executed digitally, much to the satisfaction of all political representatives present.


The Randomization procedure was conducted by Nodal Officer ETPBS/IT, (Director IT and DIO Jammu) Sanjeev Kapoor in strict compliance to the Election Commission of India guidelines.


A total of 2242 Ballot Units, 2242 Control Units and 2242 VVPAT units were Randomized for 1497 polling stations of the district’s 11 Assembly Constituencies.


The lists generated from this Randomization were handed over to the party representatives, and the entire process was videographed as per ECI norms to ensure accountability.
