First round of EVM-VVPATs randomization held at Reasi

REASI, AUGUST 23: The first phase of randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) for the upcoming General Election to the Legislative Assembly 2024 was conducted here today under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO) Vishesh Mahajan. The process was carried out in the presence of representatives from various political parties and senior officials, ensuring transparency and fairness.


During the randomization, the DEO emphasized that the purpose of the randomization is to ensure free and fair elections with no human intervention. He highlighted that the randomization is conducted using dedicated software to uphold electoral integrity. He assured that all necessary measures have been implemented to guarantee transparency throughout the electoral process.


Interacting with the members of the Political parties, the DEO appealed to them to ensure adherence to timelines for permissions and also ensure that they contribute towards a peaceful and positive campaign in the District. He assured that the District Election Authority is committed to Free and Fair polls and shall ensure that there was no violation of guidelines by anyone.


The others present at the randomization were ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal; Nodal Officer MCC Kulbhushan Khajuria; Deputy DEO Rakesh Kumar; Returning Officers (ROs) for AC-56, AC-57, and AC-58, along with other concerned officers.
