Forest Div. Bandipora organizes Plantation Drive at Safapora

BANDIPORA, APRIL 17:  As part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability, Forest Division Bandipora, Ajas Range in collaboration with the Central Silk Board, India, and the School Education Department, organized a plantation drive at Safapora.

The event witnessed participation from students and teachers of Government Girls High School, Safapora, who joined hands in planting saplings and learning about the importance of conserving nature. 

Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Scientist, Central Silk Board, India; SHO Safapora,  Forest Block Officer Sumbal, and other officials from the Department attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, officers and officials from the department emphasized the need for such plantation drives, especially in light of the growing threat of global warming highlighting that planting trees is one of the most effective natural solutions to combat climate change. 

Speakers urged students to continue participating in such green initiatives and act as ambassadors of environmental protection.

Forest Officials further highlighted that the J&K Forest Department has launched several impactful programmes and initiatives to enhance green cover in J&K. They called upon the public, particularly the youth, to contribute actively in making the surroundings clean and green.
