FoSTaC workshop organized for Food business operators at Doda
DODA, NOVEMBER 01: As part of Eat Right Challenge 3, a special workshop of FoSTaC (Food Safety Training and Certification) was today conducted by Food Safety DFCO, Doda in accordance with the guidelines enumerated by FSSAI.
More than 102 registered Food Operators participated in the training.
The team of Food Safety DFCO, led by Dev Dutt Sharma, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety, accompanied by Javed Iqbal Bangroo, Food safety Officer Block Assar, Mohammad Amin Khan, Food Safety Officer Ghat and Bhaderwah organised FoSTaC under Eat Right Challenge 3 initiated by FSSAI . The workshop was organised in collaboration with the empanelled Training partners NESSWO (National Education Society and Social Welfare Organisation).
During the workshop, the participants including Food business operators-Hoteliers, Restaurant dealers, Sweet shopkeepers, Meat and meat product vendors, retailers, wholesale distributors bakery operators, milk and milk product vendors, Caterers, Street Food vendors, dealers, manufacturers, Food packers, processors and the traders of Food Industry from different sectors were imparted Training through power point presentations. Detailed lectures /Vocal training were given by the organizers of NESSWO and the Enforcement Officers of the Department.
Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO Doda and his team elaborated in full detail the subjects in the interest of Food Business Operators. The initiative of Eat Right challenge includes a Basic course and for the same reason, brochures, pamphlets, training material, informative material were distributed among the participants. .As a matter of fact, there are 16 courses in three levels -Basic, advance and special. To create the best Food Safety Ecosystem, FoSTaC training has been made Mandatory and persons successfully trained shall be called Food Safety supervisors who in turn will train other Food Handlers.
FoSTaC has been designed by FSSAI to fulfill its mandate under section 16(3) of FSSA 2006 .The Training module has been developed to promote skill and technology to make the Food Industry more efficient and adulteration & risk free.
During the training, Hygienic practices were stressed by the way of demonstrations. FoSTaC aims to maximize the knowledge and awareness of Food Safety Regulations and policies to ensure Food safety and Hygiene.
Overall the objectives of the FoSTaC were elaborated which inclusively listed to bring behavioural changes and inculcating culture of Food Safety across the District and to create improved environment of Self Compliance to Food Safety and Standards.
At the end of the workshop, pledge was undertaken to follow the Food Safety Act Rules, Regulations promote Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and save trees and environment has a whole.
