Four personnel including one Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Superintendent of Police awarded the second highest peacetime gallantry award, Kirti Chakra on Independence Day

14 AUG:  Four personnel including one Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Superintendent of Police awarded the second highest peacetime gallantry award, Kirti Chakra on Independence Day. Three of the four awardees are getting the Kirti Chakra posthumously. The recipients include Colonel Manpreet Singh, Rifleman Ravi Kumar & DSP Humayun Bhat who are getting the award posthumously. The fourth Kirti Chakra is awarded to Major Malla Rama Gopal Naidu.
