FSD conducts extensive milk drive, market checking at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, APRIL 04: The Food Safety Department Ganderbal today conducted an extensive market checking drive against adulteration and unhygienic food products especially milk supplies and associated dairy products
The drive was taken up on the directions of District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir and the checking team was led by Food Safety Officer Ganderbal.
During the drive, a massive crackdown was started near Nagbal against the load carriers and lorries used for milk supply and services. The team collected around a dozen samples of cow milk, cheese and other dairy products.
Later, the team conducted market checking from Duderhama to Qamaria Chowk during which shopkeepers and other Food business operators were checked and advised to maintain hygienic food services. They were also sensitized about the rules and regulations of Food Safety.
The traders were also warned of serious action if they fail to display price lists in the shops and price tags labelled on the food products.
