G20 Meet will boost economy of J&K: Kavinder
JAMMU, May 17: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister on Wednesday asserted that G20 tourism working group meeting scheduled to be held later this month will go a long way in boosting the economy of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking during the meeting at Party Headquarters in Jammu, the BJP stalwart said that tourism sector which is the mainstay of UT’s economy is likely to get the much desired lift opening new vistas of opportunities for the stakeholders to thrive, and get maximum out of it. He said that the foreign delegates which are going to take part in the aforesaid summit shall act as ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir because after their return back home, they would tell their countrymen the true scenario of the UT which is feasible, pleasant and alluring as far as tourism is concerned and therefore chances are there that the countries which have issued advisories to their people not to visit Kashmir may change their stance opening up the flood gates for the foreign tourists to come to J&K and help boost tourism and economy.
Kavinder said that the win-win situation which the J&K is likely to have after the success of G20 group meeting has become point of contention for the political entities especially the members of Gupkar Group, who are opposing the G20 meeting in Srinagar.
The senior BJP leader said that the conduct of aforesaid meeting will prove as a game changer for the people of J&K as a lot s being expected from this first ever international event being held in J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of erstwhile state of J&K on August 5, 2019.
