GCET concludes 140-Hour Intensive IT & Soft Skills Training Program
JAMMU, MARCH 20: Government College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu (GCET) on Thursday concluded the 140-hour Intensive Advanced IT & Soft Skills Training program aimed at enhancing students’ employability. The program held under the mentorship of Principal Dr. Sameru Sharma was organized by ICT Academy in collaboration with Redington Foundation.
The program was designed to equip final-year students with both technical expertise and soft skills, empowering them to meet the demands of the competitive job market.
Professor ECE Dr. Subhash Chander, in his address, expressed appreciation for the successful completion of the program. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge, which is essential for careers in research, industry, and academia.
HOD CSE Prof. Simmi Dutta also congratulated the trainers, organizers, and participants, reaffirming her commitment to supporting similar skill development programs in the future. The program received valuable insights and hands-on training sessions from industry experts Mr. Adil Yousaf and Ms. Rashmi Rao, who worked closely with students to develop practical skills alongside their academic knowledge.
The program was coordinated on-campus by Dr. Ajay Abrol, Program Coordinator and supported by Dr. Mekhla Sharma (CSE Department) and Dr. Taban Qayoom (E&C Department).
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ajay Abrol, who stressed the importance of skill development courses in preparing students for the ever-evolving job market.
