GCW Gandhi Nagar conducts Awareness Rally on the prevention of Sexual Harassment at work place
JAMMU, 16 Dec: The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) and Sensitization To, Prevention Of And Redressal of Sexual Harassment (SPARSH) committee of Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, organized a comprehensive Awareness Rally on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Against Women at the Workplace within the college campus.
The rally, conducted under the able convenorship of Dr. Irvinder Kour, enjoyed the esteemed presence of Prof. Minu Mahajan, the worthy Principal of the college, who presided over the event. She encouraged the students to inculcate effective prevention strategies against sexual harassment and highlighted the importance of proactive measures to deter the menace. Starting from Home Science Department, the rally passed through key locations including the Arts Block, Department of Botany, Radhakrishan Block, Department of Chemistry, college hostel, and concluded at the starting point.
In adherence to the cause, a total of 80 enthusiastic students actively participated in the rally, chanting slogans, and subsequently distributing informative pamphlets. The students also showcased their commitment by holding posters with powerful messages addressing crimes against women. The entire program was organized and coordinated by a dedicated team comprising of Dr. Anuradha Gandotra, Dr. Anupama Pandotra, Prof. M.K Mussa, Dr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Syed Shehna, Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, and Prof. Sunita. The event, driven by a collective spirit to foster a safer environment for women, marked a significant step towards raising awareness and actively preventing sexual harassment in the workplace.
