GCW Gandhi Nagar organizes awareness workshop on use of Sustainable Resources
JAMMU, March 3: The NSS units of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar on Friday organised an Awareness workshop at adopted villages- Jaral chak and Kanal under the banner of G20 Club of the College.
The College Principal, Prof Minu Mahajan, Convener G20 Club, Prof S S Parihar and other faculty members flagged off the students’ Bus for the visit to villages.
A total of 39 volunteers participated in the awareness activity under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers unit-1&2- Prof. Mala Bhasin and Dr. Monika Hans. The volunteers actively participated in door-to-door campaigns and interacted with the villagers particularly with women folk about the wisely use of various Sustainable Resources.
A Sustainable resource is anything- physical or human which can be harnessed to create wealth or improve the standard of living of people. It is a matter of pride and honour for India to host the G20 Summit under the theme of India’s G20 Presidency- Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam means One Earth, One Family and One Future.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College, applauded the volunteers for their participation and motivated them to be a part of such activities. She also appreciated the efforts of NSS PO’s for organising this awareness workshop in the adopted villages.
