GCW Udhampur celebrates International Women Day
UDHAMPUR, March 9: The International Women Day on the theme DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality was celebrated at District Police Line Udhampur under the aegis of AKAM and G-20 presidency.
The programme was organized by District Police Udhampur in collaboration with Social Welfare Department and Special Cell for Women Udhampur with active support by Government College for Women Udhampur under the supervision of Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal of the college.
DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range, Mohd. Suleman Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion.
Students of Music Department GCW Udhampur namely Naseem Akhtar and Party presented a theme-based scintillating cultural programme which was highly applauded by the audiences. Besides a motivational theme-based skit was also presented by the students of GCW udhampur namely Vishakha and party which was also highly appreciated by the audiences. NCC cadets of GCW Udhampur who participated in R-Day Parade at New Delhi were also honoured by dignitaries during the event.
About 52 students of the college participated and received certificates of participation. Refreshment was also served to the students. Dr. Kewal Kumar, Assistant Professor of Botany, Dr. Kamaldeep Kour, Assistant Professor of English and Prof Yash Kumar, Assistant Professor of Music escorted the students. The proceedings of the programmes were conducted by Azra Parveen and Afia Nazar of Special Cell for Women Udhampur.
Among others, Principal GDC Boys, Prof. Romesh Gupta, Additional SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul-Haq, District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta and other senior officers of district police, others officials and students were also present on the occasion.
