GCW Udhampur concludes ‘VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK’’ activities on high note
UDHAMPUR, November 06-: Literary club, in collaboration with Heritage Club, Government College for Women Udhampur today organized a valedictory ceremony to mark the end of the weeklong series of programs organized to observe vigilance awareness week.
The events during this period were convened under the theme ‘SAY NO TO CORRUPTION:- COMMIT TO THE NATION’ under the patronage of the literary club of the college.
The proceedings of the programme began with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp by Principal of the college Prof. Anjali Mahajan, who was also the chief guest on 30th Oct. afternoon.
`In her address, Prof. Anjali Mahajan while addressing the audiences appealed that this week long initiative was aimed to raise public awareness about corruption and to promote a corruption free environment. She further appealed all the students and staff to refrain from involving themselves in such activities and report the incidents happening in their neighbourhood in the society if any.
Dr.Mool Raj convener of the literary club of the college and coordinator of the program presented the detailed report of various events and activities carried out during Observance of Vigilance Awareness week. These activities included pledge taking, screening of movie/video regarding the campaign against corruption ,Nukkad Natak on Say no to corruption, awareness lecture on Ethics in governance, Seminar on corruption as a social evils, Poster making and Slogan writing and Elocution on the theme Say no to corruption:-Commit to the nation.
Worthy Principal lauded the efforts of all the departments, Clubs, committees, NCC and NSS volunteers for organizing such events for the larger benefits of the student community and nation. She further urged the respective clubs to organize such programmes in the near future for rightful disposal of public services.
A colourful cultural program was also presented by the students of the college on this occasion to realize harmonious development of child education in collaboration with the Department of Music.
Around 150 volunteers’ students of the college, Faculty Members, Members of Literary Club, Heritage Club and Cultural Committee,NSS and NCC including various Heads of the department and other faculty members of the college participated in the programme. The Proceedings of the valedictory ceremony were convened by Heritage Club and Literary club.
