GCW Udhampur facilitates A14 Bharat project of IIT Madras for Dogri

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 08: The Literary Club and Department of Dogri at Government College for Women has successfully facilitated the A14 Bharat Project of IIT Madras. The project aims to bring the Dogri language to various IT and Artificial Intelligence devices such as Alexa and Google Assistant.

Dr Preeti Dubey, Assistant Professor in Computer Application at Government College for Women Parade, Jammu, undertook the project for the Dogri language. The four-day programme began on 5th April 2023 with an inaugural speech by the college principal Prof. Monika Sharma. She expressed gratitude towards IIT Madras for initiating this project.

Dr Preeti Dubey, the project coordinator, has trained many students and staff from other government colleges. Two college students, Sehar and Youshika, have successfully learned the mechanism and will become part of this mega project while receiving monetary benefits.

30 students and staff members participated in various exercises of the project. The programme was a success in raising awareness about the importance of including Dogri language in the IT world.
