GCW Udhampur hosts Essay writing Competition on “Role of Women in India’s Independence
UDHAMPUR, August 10: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Committee (AKAM) of Govt College for Women Udhampur, in collaboration with Department of Geography, organized an Essay Writing Competition on the “Role of Women in India’s Independence” here under the aegis of Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign.
Principal of the College, Prof. Anjali Mahajan congratulated the winners and appreciated the organizers for hosting this wonderful event to remember the contribution of India’s Women freedom fighters.
A group of 11 students from 5th semesters participated in the competition Supriya Bharti secured first position, Vagisha bagged 2nd, while 3rd position went to Nitika Sharma.
The panel of judges included Prof. Sanjeet Kaur (HOD Zoology), Prof. Tania Akhter (HOD English) and Prof. Tania Mahajan (Zoology Department).
Earlier, Prof. Pooja Bharti, HOD Geography presented the formal welcome address and gave a brief resume about the event. She further conducted the proceedings of the programme with formal Vote of Thanks.
Among others present were AKAM committee members Prof. Kewal Kumar (Botany Department), Prof. Rajinder Singh (HOD Punjabi), Prof.Yash Kumar (Music Department).
