GCW Udhampur organises Poster, symposium contest on National Voters’ Day
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 24: As part of National Voters’ Day, a Poster making Competition and Symposium was today organized at Government College for Women Udhampur.
The event was organized by the Department of Political Science and Shikshit Bharat Club under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to make the students aware regarding Universal Adult Franchise and value of Right to Vote.
The Principal of the College was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest appreciated the initiative and encouraged the students regarding optimum and cautious use of their voting rights. The students participated in the Poster Making competition on the theme- Universal Adult Franchise: Value of Right to Vote and showed exemplary talent. In the second event, around 25 students participated in the symposium competition on the theme Indian Constitution: Strengths and Challenges Ahead.
Prof. Roopa, Dr. Sushma and Prof. Shama judged the events. Certificates were presented to the winners and other participants of both the events. Pledge was also taken by all the faculty members and students present to uphold the values and cherish the principles of the Indian Constitution.
The entire event was organized under the convenorship of Dr. Shaveta Sharma (Head of the Department of Political Science) and Nodal Officer, SVEEP with assistance of Dr. Mudassar and Mahima from the Department of Political Science.
Among others, Dr. Sushma, HOD Dogri, Prof. Roopa, Assistant Professor Education, Prof. Shama, Assistant Professor Dogri, Prof. Yashpaul, HoD History, Prof. Yash, Assistant Professor Music, with some other faculty members and students.
