GCW Udhampur organises symposium contest
UDHAMPUR December 30, 2022: The Career Counselling, Guidance, and Placement Cell of the Government College for Women, Udhampur, on Friday organised a symposium on “My Dream Job after Graduation” here under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, the Principal of the college was the chief guest and the event was organised under the supervision of Prof. Jugal Kishore, Convenor, Career Counselling, Guidance, and Placement Cell.
More than 15 students participated in the symposium, out of which Neha, Isha, and Samiksha Thakur were adjudged 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively.
The students disclosed their dreams of becoming bankers, professors, IAS, IPS, and so on, and shared their plans for achieving their goals.
The event served the intended purpose of inspiration and information for the speakers as well as the audience, and the winners were given appreciation certificates.
The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Prof. Yash Paul. He welcomed the chief guest and introduced the aims and objectives of the symposium. The programme began with the wise words of Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, the principal of the college.
Addressing the gathering, she encouraged and congratulated the students for participating in such a job centric symposium and emphasised the critical role played by such programmes in inducing self-introspection and raising awareness about the various competitive examinations to be faced by the students after graduation.
She encouraged the students to dream big, to choose their dream career as soon as possible, and to devote their entire energy to achieving it. The stage was managed by Manvi and Astha and the event was judged by the jury of five Judges comprising Prof. Ashni Devi, Prof. Sarika Mahajan, Prof. Shallu Jasrotia, Prof. Yash Paul and Dr. Dinesh Kumar.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Member, Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement (CCGP) Cell. Dr. Amit Kumar, Prof. Shama Rani and other members of the CCGP Cell were also present on the occasion.
