GDC Baramulla commences vibrant celebration of Digital India Week-2023
National-Level Quiz, Webinars & Digi Mela held
BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 01: The celebration of Digital India Week-2023 is in full swing as Government Degree College (Autonomous), Baramulla, has commenced a series of successful events.
The events include a National-Level Online Quiz on “Cyber Security and Digital Literacy,” engaging webinars on AI tools, office efficiency, and public service, as well as the inauguration of Digi Mela-2023. These events have brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, all eager to enhance their digital knowledge and skills.
The celebration, which began on August 31st, will continue for a week and coincides with the launch of the Digital J&K Week celebration, aimed at enhancing online service delivery mechanisms and expanding internet accessibility among citizens.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Farooq Rather, who emphasized the critical importance of cyber security and digital literacy in today’s digitally connected world.
Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Najar, Head of the Post-Graduate Department of Computer Sciences, provided valuable insights into the aim and objectives of the program, highlighting the significance of enhancing awareness about cyber security and promoting safe and responsible use of technology.
The National-Level Online Quiz featured a set of interactive sessions designed to challenge participants’ understanding of topics related to cyber security and digital literacy. With a strict time duration of 30 minutes, the quiz ensured that participants’ responses were timely and accurate.
The college administration and the Post-Graduate Department of Computer Sciences organized these events with a clear mission: to promote safe and responsible use of technology among participants. In today’s digitally connected world, such knowledge is invaluable, and these events served as excellent platforms for individuals to enhance their expertise.
Participants who demonstrated a strong grasp of the subject matter and scored above 60% in the quiz will be awarded e-Certificates, acknowledging their proficiency in cyber security and digital literacy.
Furthermore, these events coincided with the launch of the Digital J&K Week celebration, aimed at enhancing online service delivery mechanisms and expanding internet accessibility among citizens. The celebration commenced with the hosting of Digi Mela-2023, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, and other concerned officers.
The webinars featured talks delivered by esteemed speakers, including Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, Prof. Zubair Masoodi, Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Najar, Dr. Syed Mutahar Aaqib, and Prof. Tanveer Lone, as well as Mr. Muneer Ahmad Wani, CEO Office Baramulla, Mr. Raja Ali, DIO NIC Baramulla, and Mr. Syed Mehjoor Rizwi, Agriculture Office Baramulla. These talks provided participants with valuable insights into the latest advancements in digital technology and the role of digital initiatives in enhancing public service.
