GDC Bhaderwah observes “International Day of Action for Women’s Health”
DODA, May 30: As part of the community outreach program, the Women Development Cell and CASH Committee of Government Degree College Bhaderwah, in collaboration with Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah, organised an awareness program on Women Health at village Gutassa. The event was organised to mark the“ “International Day of Action for Women Health” under the guidance of the College Principal Dr. K. K Sharma.
The program started with the formal welcome address presented by Dharam Singh, Sarpanch Halqa Gutassa. Dr. Heenu Sharma from SDH Bhaderwah and Prof. Pinky Kotwal delivered a lecture to the women folk on Women Health in which she talked about the issues related to physical health and mental health of a women and also advised them to take care of their health.
A medical checkup of some of the women was done by the doctor and prescribed medicines were also distributed among them free of cost. A door to door campaign was also conducted and the females were made aware about their health and hygiene.
Roopali Kotwal, Heena Rubani, Reya Bharti, Bhoomi Japotra, Komal Devi and Tania Parveen all the students of UG semester II also delivered an impressive lecture on mental and physical problems faced by the women and suggested them the measures to deal with the mental health. A number of queries were raised by the females which were patiently cleared by the medical experts.
Prof. Manjeet Singh, Prof. Sanjay Kumar (PS), Prof. Jaideep Kumar, Prof. Bipen Singh, Ms. Reenu( Lecturer), Ms Seema Banno were also present on the occasion. Light refreshment was served to all the participants of the event. The program ended with formal vote of thanks to the Sarpanch, the resource person and allied staff of SDH Bhaderwah, staff and students of the college and others present in the gathering by Prof. Pinki Kotwal Convener WDC and CASH Committee of the college.
