GDC Bhaderwah organises Swachtha Abhiyan with active participation of 100 students
BHADERWAH, May 10: Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah- NSS Unit today conducted Swachtha Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive) within the college Campus under the guidance of the College Principal Prof. (Dr) Kuldeep Kumar Sharma. Program Officer of NSS, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed led the initiative which witnessed active participation from around 100 students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed highlighted the significance of maintaining a green campus as a stepping stone towards sustainable development. Considering Jammu and Kashmir’s participation in the G20, GDC Bhaderwah has undertaken the responsibility of making its campus plastic-free and promoting environmental consciousness. In this regard, the NSS is organizing lectures and discussions to foster awareness among the students.
During the event, the NSS Unit’s Program Officer revealed a comprehensive action plan that will be implemented in the future. Both the faculty members and students enthusiastically pledged to combat littering and manage waste effectively within the college campus.
The cleanliness drive was spearheaded by eminent faculty members, including Prof Pinky Kotwal, Prof Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Nazar Ul Islam, Prof Deep Chand and others. Their active involvement alongside the students served as a source of inspiration for everyone present.
The NSS Unit’s Swachita Abhiyan at GDC Bhaderwah exemplifies the college’s commitment towards creating a cleaner and greener environment. By instilling the values of cleanliness and sustainable development, the college aims to contribute to the greater vision of a healthier and more vibrant society.
