GDC Dharmari organizes successful Plogathon

REASI, AUGUST 06: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College, Dharmari successfully hosted a Plogathon, aimed at combining physical exercise with environmental consciousness. The event, which saw enthusiastic participation from students, focused on cleaning up local areas while raising awareness about the importance of waste management and environmental preservation.


The Plogathon began at the main building of the college with a brief introduction by NSS Program Officer, Prof. Ajay Kumar, who emphasized the significance of community involvement in environmental protection. Participants were provided with trash bags and were guided along designated paths.


Throughout the event, participants collected litter and sorted recyclables, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment. The event concluded with a brief ceremony where collected waste was weighed and sorted, and participants were recognized for their efforts.


The NSS Unit plans to continue organizing similar initiatives to further promote environmental stewardship and community engagement.


The Plogathon was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Mohd. Mazammal Hussain, Principal of the College. The program was supervised by NSS Programme officer Prof. Ajay Kumar and other faculty members.
