GDC Doda hosts mega awareness event
DODA, May 25: Government Degree College Doda on Thursday organised a massive event to promote the Mission LiFE campaign.
Chief Conservator of Forests Jammu, BM Sharma was the chief guest. At the event different plant saplings were planted on the college campus, which was followed by a guest lecture on the aims and objectives of the Mission LiFE.
The Mission LiFE is a month-long program which will culminate on June 5, on the occasion of World Environment Day. Mission LiFE seeks to translate the vision of LiFE into measurable impact. It is designed with the objective to mobilise at least one billion Indians and other global citizens to take individual and collective action for protecting and conserving the environment in the period 2022–27.
The programme was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, Dr. Jitendra Singh Conservator of Forest Chenab Circle; Principal of the Host College, Athar Singh Kotwal; SFS DFO Doda Ravinder Singh; DFO Social Forestry Doda Shafeer Shah among others, besides college students, faculty members, forest staff, and others.
