GDC Hiranagar, SPIC MACAY organise programme on Bharatanatyam
KATHUA, April 06: Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Government Degree College Hiranagar, in collaboration with the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) organised a lecture and demonstration on Bharatanatyam at the college.
The expert of the workshop, Vidushi Bragha Bessell, through her Nritta and Abhinaya earned wide appreciation from students, teachers, and connoisseurs. She is an eminent Bharatanatyam dancer from Tamil Nadu, who has received many titles and awards. Bragha has given numerous performances in India and overseas and has worked as a visiting faculty in Kalakshetra for over 15 years.
Bragha was accompanied by Nandini Sharma on vocals, Sri Sudarsini on Nattuvangam, MS Kanna on violin and Kiran Pai on on Mridangam.
Principal GLDM GDC Hiranagar, Dr Pragya Khanna, who was the chief guest on the occasion, expressed gratitude to the artists and the SPIC MCAY for collaborating with the college to organise such a wonderful event, providing national exposure to the students of the college. The event received overwhelming response and appreciation from the audience.
