GDC Kishtwar organises seminar to commemorate National Science Day

KISHTWAR, February 28: To commemorate the National Science Day 2023, the Science department of Government Degree College Kishtwar organised a seminar in the College Conference Hall.

Students of different semesters along with the faculty members participated in the Seminar presided over by the College Principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar.

 Prof. Romana Akhtar presented the welcome address and threw light on the significance of the day.

It is pertinent to mention here that National Science Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the achievements of Dr. C V Raman who won the Nobel Prize in 1930 for his important discovery called the Raman Effect.

Several students spoke in detail about the Wonders of Science and how science has revolutionized the way of living. The students from science stream also participated in the poster presentation event.

Dr. Jyoti Parihar, in her presidential address, stressed on developing scientific temper among the students. She explained in detail the role of science in our daily life.

Prof. Umar Din Rather and Prof. Faisal Mushtaq also spoke at length about the life history and achievements of Dr. C V Raman.

The participating students of the twin events were given certificates of appreciation along with refreshment.

Prof. Romana Akhter, Prof Sarita Parihar, Dr.Sehrish Gazal conducted the programme.
