GDC Kunjwani organises Awareness Programme on Worlds AIDS Day

 JAMMU, December 02: Red Cross Unit Government Degree College Kunjwani organized an Awareness Programme on World AIDS Day.

 The aim of the programme was to educate the students about HIV infection, raise awareness and to create more openness about the disease and to make communities more supportive.

The highlight of the event was the insightful presidential address by principal of the college Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo. In his address he stressed upon the need of awareness among students about AIDS as HIV infection is currently incurable, but one can control it with good quality education and awareness.  .

 Dr. Arti Pandoh Gupta HOD Physics, in her lecture highlighted the aim and objective of awareness about aids infection. She emphasized that it is the need of the hour to break the silence, the stigma defy, and to deal with compassion. Dr. Ramnik Kour HOD zoology, delivered a very informative lecture about Aids Awareness. She said on this day our duty is to spread awareness about HIV and prevent the human race from getting infected by the disease. She further emphasized that Mass Awareness about aids worldwide is extremely important because HIV still prevails in the society.

  Meanwhile, the students of the college participated in the different programmes, displayed posters, speeches and presented a thought provoking skit on HIV AIDS. The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Ashaq Hussain Convener of the Red Cross Unit GDC Kunjwani. Dr. Neeru Sharma delivered a formal vote expressing gratitude to all for their contribution in making the event a success.
