GDC Mahanpur starts series of activities under ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign

KATHUA, AUGUST 09: Government Degree College Mahanpur today organised “Shilaphalakam” at Ghaner Boli as part of ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign being observed across the country from 9th to 30th August, 2023.

To mark the day, the Principal of the College, Dr. Sangeeta Sudan along with staff and NSS volunteers paid floral tributes to the brave warrior, Shourya Chakra winner, Shaheed Thakur Ranbir Singh (Sub – inspector JKP) who scarified his life for the nation fighting bravely with the militants at Raika Forest Jammu on 2nd August 2002.

Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, in her address, said that a fundamental aspect of the Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign is to express heartfelt gratitude to all the brave hearts (veers) who made supreme sacrifice. She said the nation will forever be grateful to the sacrifices made by our forces including Jammu Kashmir Police personnels with their memories in our hearts to keep energizing ourselves and move forward on the path of nation building.

As many as 25 students from different semesters participated in the program under the supervision of NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Meena Devi.

Other faculty members including Dr. Balbinder Singh, Prof. Arvind Kumar, Saurabh Dutta, Dr. Sapna Devi and Dr. Parshotam Dass were also present on the occasion.
