GDC Marheen NSS Unit Organizes “No Crackers, Green and Clean Deepawali” Rally

Marheen, 25th October 2024 – The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Marheen organized a rally today on the theme “No Crackers, Green and Clean Deepawali.” The rally, aimed at promoting eco-friendly Diwali celebrations, was held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta, esteemed Principal of GDC Marheen. Prof. Gupta flagged off the rally and encouraged the participating NSS volunteers to spread the message within their communities and educate their respective villages about the importance of a green Diwali.

A large number of NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated, carrying the rally from the college premises to the NSS-adopted village. Throughout the event, the volunteers raised slogans advocating for a “Green and Clean Diwali,” educating locals on the environmental impact of crackers and promoting alternatives for a safe, eco-friendly celebration.

The rally concluded with a pledge taken by the NSS volunteers to bring the message of a cracker-free, environmentally responsible Diwali to every corner of society. Dr. Arun Dev Singh, NSS Programme Officer, organized the event, joined by faculty members Dr. Balbinder Singh, Prof. Anoop Sharma, Prof. Manu Saini, Prof. Diksha, Prof. Naresh, Prof. Suman, Dr. Meenu Sharma, and others.
