GDC Neeli Nallah organises workshop on “Role of Yoga in Management of Substance-Use Disorders”
UDHAMPUR, September 12: NSS Unit, Sewak, Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur today organized one day workshop on the theme “Role of Yoga in Management of Substance-Use Disorders” under the the banner Nasha Mukt Bharat.
The programme started with lightening of ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Yoga experts, staff members and followed by welcome address by the NSS PO, Dr. Radha Rani. The session started with Dhavni “OM” by Shreekrishna Sharma. Then the second expert K.C Gupta introduced participants about different Yoga Asanas like presence of mind, scientific meditation, will power, How to listen to a lecture, clapping therapy, nostril control, self examination, precautions, a sound mind in a sound body, self motivation, personality improvement etc.
They encouraged all the students to involve themselves in various types of asanas and meditations.
While addressing the students, Principal of the College, Prof. Hans Raj stated that the objective of the workshop is to raise awareness about the ancient practices of yoga and its positive impact on physical and mental well being and he urged the participants to adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine life. Students performed various Yoga aasan for management of substance. The participants felt very relaxed and positive after performing yoga and meditation sessions, as they shared it during the interactive session.
The workshop is being organized under the able guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, Principal of the College. Dr. Radha Rani, NSS PO was the convener of the programme and Dr. Swati Dutt was the organizer of the event.
Others present in the workshop were Pardeep Kumar, Kumari Mahima Bhagat, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Zahoor Ahmed Mir and Neha Dev.
