GDC Nubra celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and 6TH UT Foundation Day

Nubra, October 30, 2024: Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and 6TH UT Foundation Day was celebrated under the chairmanship of PrincipaI Government Degree College, Nobra Dr. Tsewang Motup, Department of Political Science on 30th October,2024.

The programme started with a brief introduction by Assistant Professor Rinchen Angmo, about the significance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) to honour the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, who was instrumental in uniting India post- Independence. She also spoke about the 6TH UT Foundation Day of Ladakh to commemorate Ladakh’s journey towards progress and Self-governance while preserving its unique culture and landscapes.

Dr. Tsewang Mutup, Principal, then delivered an inspiring and insightful speech about Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s role in the unity, integrity and security across the nation to the students and the staff gathered. He also highlighted how the creation of UT Ladakh has opened opportunities for direct financial allocation from the Central Government which has greatly accelerated Ladakh’s developmental efforts.

Durign the program, he presented a comprehensive report on the College’s financial expenditures and funds allocated for the all-round development of the College and highlighted the ongoing and new projects sanctioned under Special Development Package (SDP) of UT Ladakh as well as LAHDC District Capex.

The Program was followed by Pledge Ceremony, where the Principal, students and the staff took a Pledge, which reflected Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s legacy and the importance of unity in the diversity of India.
