GDC Pouni Organises awareness camp Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan
REASI, June 14: In continuation to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Rural Development department, in collaboration with Nasha Mukt Unit, NSS and Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College Pouni, organised an awareness camp on the college to spread awareness about the menace of Drugs and Psychotropic Substance.
Government Degree College Pouni witnessed overwhelming participation of students of all the semesters, including NSS and RRC.
The audience also included District Administration officials, Sarpanch and Panch, and Panchayat members. Tanpreet Singh, Convener of Nasha Mukt Unit, hosted the event and welcomed the guests of the day, Professors, and rest of the audience.
He also deliberated upon the awareness campaigns and series of activities being conducted by GDC Pouni to mobilize support for eradication of drug addiction and drug trafficking. He also presented the agenda of the event.
The College Principal, Dr. Udhay Bhanu underlined the setback being caused by the menace of drug abuse in the society. He deliberated in detail how its tentacles are spreading the grip on our younger generation and pose a serious threat to the society as a whole.
Balvinder Singh, a student of semester 6th presented his talk on the topic of the day and very assertively brought forth his views.
Later, the Additional Deputy Commissioner addressed the audience and it turned out to be an interactive session where people from the audience put forth their issues they have been facing.
The event culminated with the anti-drug abuse pledge administered by Dr. Tarseem Kumar.
The event proceeded with the Vote of Thanks by Prof. U S Liza, HOD English. She extended gratitude to the ADC Reasi, and other District Administration officials, members of Tehsil administration, Sarpanchs and Panchs and organising Members of the event and students.
