GDC Ramgarh Celebrates Hindi Diwas-2023

SAMBA, September 14: Government Degree College Ramgarh celebrated Hindi Diwas-2023. During the celebration, a poem recitation contest and a symposium were held. The whole event was organized by the Department of Hindi of the college in collaboration with the NSS unit ‘Prabha’ under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The event was organized under the able supervision and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the worthy Principal of the college.

In the beginning of the event, Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Convener, IQAC, said that Hindi Diwas is celebrated with great enthusiasm in schools, colleges and government offices. During the event, Dr. Ekta Rani, Department of Hindi of the college, explained the importance of Hindi Diwas. She said that September 14 is a day when Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country. This day holds special significance as it marks the adoption of Hindi as the official language by the Constituent Assembly in the year 1949. On this day, the Constituent Assembly accepted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of India. The other one is English.

A large number of students participated in the poem recitation contest and symposium. In the poem recitation contest, Ms. Chahat Spolia secured 1st position, Ms. Jagmeet Kour secured 2nd position and Ms. Babli Devi secured 3rd position. In the symposium,  Muskaan Verma secured 1st position,   Neha Sharma secured 2nd position and  Rimpi Angural secured 3rd position.

The faculty members present during the event were Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Shamsher Lal (NSS PO), Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Dr. Paramjeet Kour,  Sunil Kumar, Ms. Priya Sharma, Ms. Arpana Devi and Dr. Rahul Kundal.
