GDC Ramgarh celebrates JK UT Foundation Day
SAMBA, October 27: Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a series of activities to mark the celebration of J&K UT Foundation day. The activities were organized by the College Advisory Committee under the guidance and coordination of Prof.(Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.
A large number of students participated in the activities with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Prof.(Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, principal of the college, said that the day marks an era of progress, unity, and development since the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was reorganized into two separate Union Territories – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, through several far reaching reforms and welfare measures implemented by the administration. She added that several changes have taken place in the social, economic, infrastructure and other sectors which have boosted the development of J&K ensuring transparent, responsive and accountable governance. The advisory committee of the college organized Essay writing, Painting, Photography and Videography Competitions on the theme of ‘Badalta Jammu Kashmir, Badhta Jammu Kashmir: Aman aur Taraqqi ki Nayi Tasveer’
In photography Competition, first position was secured by Akshay Singh Bagal, Sem V while second and third positions were bagged by Jagmeet kour, Sem III and Tanu Sharma, Sem III respectively.
In Videography Competition, First position was bagged by Mohit Singh, sem III, second position by Ritika Manhas, Sem V and third position was clicked by Varsha Salaria, Sem V.
In Painting Competition, First and second position was secured by prize was bagged by Alisha Menia, Sem III and Jagmeet Kour, Sem III and Tanu Sharma, Sem III
In Essay writing Competition, First and second prize was bagged by Chaht Tidyal, Sem 1st and Jagmeet Kour, Sem III while third position was clicked by Anjali Bavouria, Sem 1st.
The organizing committee of the activities included Dr. Sandeep Kumari, Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr. Sandeep Kumar and Prof. Risha Kumari.
