GDC Ramgarh organizes workshop to formulate SVEEP activity Plan
SAMBA, AUGUST 27: The Electoral Literacy Club of Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a workshop to formulate an extensive voter awareness activity plan under the aegis of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. The whole programme was conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjli Andotra. The event was aimed at enhancing electoral awareness among students, fostering a culture of informed voting, and strengthening democratic participation.
ELC membership drive was conducted to induct more members for the SVEEP activities. During the drive, participants were divided into two distinct groups for male and female members. This division was strategically implemented to encourage active participation and address the unique perspectives and challenges faced by each group in the electoral process.
The elected members of the ELC were oriented about their role and responsibilities in spreading electoral awareness both within the college premises and in the surrounding community. The workshop emphasized the importance of their active involvement in promoting voter education, the significance of informed voting and the need for increased voter turnout, especially among young voters.
Prof. Sandeep Kumari, the ELC Nodal Officer, conducted an informative session where she educated the members about the electoral process. ELC members were informed about the legal voting age and the importance of registering as voters as soon as they are eligible. She also provided a detailed explanation of the steps involved in voter registration, including how to fill out the necessary forms and the documentation required.
In the meeting of ELC members, a schedule was meticulously drawn up for the month of September, outlining various awareness programs and activities that will be conducted both within and outside the campus in view of the upcoming State Assembly elections in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
