GDC Ramgarh pays tribute to martyrs

SAMBA, AUGUST 09: Government Degree College Ramgarh under Independence Day Celebration, paid tribute to the local martyrs who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
The ceremony was attended by the families of the martyrs, esteemed guests, faculty members, and students, all gathered to honor the bravery and selflessness of these heroes. Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal extended a warm welcome to everyone present, setting the tone for the event.
The ceremony commenced with a two-minute silence, observed in respectful remembrance of the martyrs. The program included a poignant recounting of the life histories of Amar Shaheed Rajneesh Sharma (Shaurya Chakra) and Amar Shaheed Deepak Kumar.
Students from the college recited inspiring patriotic poetry, celebrating the spirit and sacrifice of these courageous bravehearts. The guests, poet Raj Kumar, Satya Paul Gudwalia and Prof. Brahm Dutt further enriched the event with their evocative poetry, adding depth and emotion to the tribute.
The brother of Rajneesh Sharma also shared heartfelt words, offering a personal reflection on the sacrifice of his loved one.
In a gesture of honor and appreciation, mementos were presented to the families of the martyrs.
The entire proceedings and the vote of thanks were conducted by Prof. Brahm Dutt. Faculty members Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Ashok Kumar (PTI) and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra were also present on the occasion.
Earlier poster making competition on the theme ‘Say No to Corruption’ was held, wherein 15 students participated enthusiastically and show cased their painting talents by highlighting the theme. Tania Sem-V, Aruna Sem-V and Tamana Sem-V secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
