GDC Vijaypur celebrates Fit India Movement

SAMBA, October 17: As a part of the series of program being organized under the banner of ‘Fit India Freedom Run 4.0’ a nationwide campaign, ‘Swatchh Bharat, Swasth Bharat’, ‘Gandhi Jyanti Celebrations 2023’and ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’, the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur today organized the Swatchhta Freedom Run (Plog Run) from college campus. NSS volunteers and faculty (both teaching as well as non-teaching) participated in the freedom run actively with great enthusiasm and fervor.

The freedom run was flagged off by Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta, along with senior faculty members, Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education).

Principal briefed the students about the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and elaborated upon their formula of sound mind in the sound body which shows that youth is on the right track. She further articulated that this freedom run is actually an awareness event to aware students against the ill effects of ‘Drug Abuse’ and that they should keep themselves away from drugs by keeping themselves engaged in fitness activities.
