GDC Vijaypur hosts poster making competition on HIV/AIDS awareness

SAMBA, NOVEMBER 29: In continuation to the series of activities being organized under World AIDS Day 2023, the Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College Vijaypur, in collaboration with NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) organized poster making competition on the theme- “Let communities Lead”, which was attended by NSS volunteers and students.  

Pooja Kumari of semester-III secured 1st Position followed by Rohit Singh of semester-V who secured 2nd Position while Sharda Devi of semester-III secured 3rd Position. Participants presented different views in their posters spreading awareness about myths and misconceptions about HIV/AIDS.

While interacting with the participants of the programme,  the College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta highlighted that AIDS Day is a global movement to unite people in the fight against HIV/AIDS and to show strength and solidarity against HIV stigma and to remember lives lost because of AIDS.

The event was judged by Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD) Political Science, Dr. Anoop Bhagat (HOD) Sociology and Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD) Dogri.

The event was organized under able guidance of Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD) Education; coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS PO and Prof. Renuka Kundal, Lecturer Political Science and co-coordinated by Dr. Neelam Devi, Lecturer Hindi and Prof. Sonia Devi, Lecturer Hindi.
