GDC Vijaypur observes ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”
SAMBA, June 26: Red ribbon club of Government Degree College Vijaypur, in collaboration with NSS Unit (KHIDMAT), observed “International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking” under the umbrella of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Mission LiFE and G20 on the College campus.
The College Principal Dr. Vandana Gupta was the Chief Guest. On this occasion, students and Staff members took a pledge “To fully stand with the Government in its fight against the usage, consumption and manufacturing of illegal narcotic substances and to contribute with utmost dedication towards the growth of the Jammu and Kashmir and welfare of its people.”
The theme for World Drug Day 2023 is “People first: stop stigma and discrimination, strengthen prevention.” This theme highlights the importance of treating people (who use drugs) with dignity and respect and of preventing use of drugs through education and awareness-raising.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor NSS) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Red Ribbon Club) and co-coordinated by Prof. Anil Bhagat.
