GDC Vijaypur organizes two-day workshop to mark Digital Week Celebrations 2023

SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 06: Government Degree College Vijaypur today organized a two-Day Workshop to mark Digital Week Celebrations 2023.

 The day one began with an extension lecture on the title ‘Role of Digital Services provided by the government of J&K (UT)’ delivered by   Gagan Deep Singh (Department of Computer Applications).  It was followed by a hands-on training session for the participants including students and faculty from different backgrounds who were all keen to advance their digital knowledge and abilities. The presentation gave participants insightful information on the most recent developments in digital technology and how digital efforts have improved the public services.

The day two of the workshop witnessed Wall Painting event which showcased artistic skills of the participants who emphasized the significance of digital initiatives for the benefit of the common people through their paintings.

Some students provided valuable information about e-services available in higher education such as Samarth, academic bank of credits, online feedback, and more while other presented on the user-friendly nature of e-services, sharing insights into digital portals like JKKN, e-pathshala and Digilocker, etc.

The whole event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College. Speaking on the occasion, she acknowledged J&K’s elite status in digital initiatives and commended the efforts of the students.  She also highlighted the significance of various IT-enabled initiatives and online services celebrated during Digital Week, aimed at raising awareness among the public.

The workshop showcased the potential of digital technologies to revolutionize education and other government services in the region, leaving participants inspired and informed.

The event concluded with the felicitation of the participating students who participated in various events throughout the two-day workshop by the Principal of the College. The event was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Cyber Cell) and co-coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor IQAC) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary
