General Observer evaluates Election preparations in Tehsil Pouni

REASI, SEPTEMBER 19: General Observer for the Reasi and SMVD Assembly constituencies Avi Prasad undertook a detailed tour of Tehsil Pouni to assess the election preparedness in the region. His visit began at the Tehsil Office in Pouni, where he engaged with Tehsildar Pouni Sahil Randhawa, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the electoral arrangements in place.

As part of his visit, Mr. Prasad inspected several polling stations, including Polling Station No. 102 and Polling Station No. 103 at GHHS Barak. There, he reviewed the updated voter lists and evaluated the progress made towards distribution of voter slips by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs). In addition, he carefully examined the provision of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at each station, ensuring that voters would have access to all necessary amenities on the polling day.

Extending the appraisal to critical areas, Mr. Prasad also visited two high-sensitivity polling stations—Polling Station No. 141 at GMS Gunn and Polling Station No. 142 at GHS Nagar, both in Tehsil Reasi. The focus was to evaluate the security arrangements, ensuring that the necessary measures were in place for a peaceful and orderly election process.

Additionally, Mr. Prasad evaluated the working of the Static Surveillance Team (SST) stationed at the Domail-Pouni Naka. The inspection ensured that CCTV cameras were installed and operational to effectively monitor and check the movement of vehicles, a crucial measure for maintaining election security.
