General Observer for URI-AC chairs meeting with Political Parties/ Contesting Candidates

Also inspects several Polling Stations in Uri-AC


BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 18: As part of the preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections in the 09-Uri Assembly Constituency, General Observer, Kuldeep Narayan chaired a meeting at TRC Salamabad Uri today with representatives of political parties and contesting candidates.


Returning Officer 09-Uri Assembly Constituency, Javed Ahmad Rather, Assistant Returning Officer and other election officials were present in the meeting.
The meeting was marked by active participation from political parties, who reaffirmed their commitment to conducting peaceful and fair campaigns. The representatives assured the election authorities of their cooperation in following the Election Commission’s guidelines and ensuring that their campaigns uphold the spirit of democratic values.


They also welcomed the transparency and coordination offered by the election officials, fostering a positive environment ahead of the elections.


Later, General Observer, accompanied by Returning Officer visited several polling stations across the 09-Uri Assembly Constituency. The inspection were conducted to ensure that Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF), such as ramps for accessibility, drinking water, proper lighting, and sanitation, were in place at each polling station.


The General Observer expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and directed authorities to address any minor issues to ensure that all polling stations are fully prepared for election day.
