General Observer presides over SVEEP programme at Kupwara
KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 13: An awareness programme under SVEEP was today conducted at Boys High School Tikker Kupwara with an aim to enhance voter awareness and participation in the upcoming General Election to Legislative Assembly-2024.
On the occasion, various activities were conducted including rally, Plantation drive, Cultural programmes (Drama, Nukud Natak, Folk Songs etc) to sensitize the participants about the importance of voting in the electoral process.
General Observer, P Hemalatha who was chief guest on the occasion highlighted the agenda for promoting clean Democracy. She also laid emphasis on the importance of citizen’s valuable responsibilities. She appreciated the efforts of the District Administration for reaching out to the marginalized communities ensuring that every eligible voter is informed and encouraged to participate in the electoral process.
Returning Officer, 3 -Kupwara, Peerzada Mumtaz highlighted the role of SVEEP Programmes and stressed that every voter is equipped with the knowledge they need. He said that such knowledge may help in clarifying the registration process, understanding voting rights and the Electoral System.
Under the SVEEP Action Plan, another programme regarding voters participation was conducted at Higher Secondary School Vilgam where different cultural Activities in addition to awareness campaigns were conducted with full swing.
