General, Police Observers review implementation of MCC in Bandipora
BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 18: Nelson Eyon Bage, the General Observer for the 14-Sonawari and 15-Bandipora Assembly Constituencies, along with Police Observer, Adarsh Sidhu on Wednesday convened a meeting with candidates and representatives from various political parties at Mini Secretariat Bandipora to discuss the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India in preparation for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024.
The meeting was aimed to ensure that all stakeholders are well-informed about the MCC and its significance in maintaining a fair electoral process.
Nodal Officer MCC briefed the chair regarding the measures implemented for the effective enforcement of the MCC in the district.
He outlined the various procedures and guidelines established by the Election Commission of India (ECI) concerning campaigning, permissions, and other election related activities aimed to ensure that all participants were well-informed and prepared to adhere to the regulations during the electoral process.
On the occasion Observers emphasized the importance of adherence to the MCC to foster a transparent and equitable electoral environment besides encouraging all political parties to collaborate and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
Among others, Nodal Officer MCC Zaffar Husson Shawal, Returning Officer for 15-Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani, along with other officials involved in the election process were present on the occasion.
