GHS Plakh organizes cultural program to promote Voter Awareness among students
KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 07: A vibrant cultural program and a Nukkad Natak were organized today at Government High School (GHS) Plakh to promote voter participation under the aegis of SVEEP initiative.
The program was designed to educate, motivate, and encourage all eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote. The event also highlighted outreach to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and other vulnerable sections to ensure their full and inclusive participation in the electoral process.
The program was organized with the cooperation of Kamla Devi, Head of the Institution, and featured key speakers including, Nodal Officer of SVEEP 65-Basohli Dr. Roshan Lal, and Ashwani Kumar, Lecturer and member of SVEEP Cell 65-Basohli.
They provided detailed information on how new voters can register, how existing voters can correct their details on the electoral roll, and the process for removing the names of deceased or shifted family members. Attendees were also encouraged to use the Voter Helpline Number (1950) and the Voter Helpline App to gather information on candidates and political parties to make informed voting decisions.
The program concluded with a joint pledge-taking ceremony, where all attendees committed to participating responsibly in the electoral process.
