Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Government Degree College celebrates Hindi Diwas
KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 14: Department of Hindi Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Government Degree College Hiranagar celebrated Hindi Diwas by hosting a seminar on the topic ‘Hindi mein Rozgar ki sambhavnayain’.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of the College to promote and celebrate the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of Hindi, while also opening doors to a multitude of professional paths for Hindi enthusiasts.
Principal of the College Dr. Pragya Khanna, in her message, said that the promotion of linguistic heritage of the country is a primary concern of the College. She further held that Hindi language has been one of the binding and emotional factors for the people and promotion and conservation of the language would be made possible by the speakers of the Hindi language only.
The event was presided by Prof. Shujaut Khan, Co-ordinator IQAC and Head Department of Computer Sciences and the Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Davinder Kour.
Pertinently, Hindi Diwas commemorates the day when Hindi, written in the Devanagari script, was adopted as the official language of the Indian Republic. This event not only marks a historic milestone but also serves as a reminder of the immense potential of the Hindi language in contemporary society.
The event was celebrated in two sessions. The first one witnessed a number of students discussing and presenting remarkable speeches on the exploration of different career opportunities for graduates in Hindi language.
The event was a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Hindi graduates, students, and enthusiasts to gain insight into how their passion for the language can translate into a fulfilling career.
The event started with the welcome address by Head Department of Hindi Prof. Rakesh Sharma. A number of career opportunities such as in media and journalism, in the entertainment industry, in translation and content creation, teaching, government and administrative services, digital marketing and social media were discussed in the event.
The event also witnessed speeches and idea sharing by a number of Assistant Professors regarding the promotion of Hindi language and other regional languages.
The adjudicators for the event were Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Professor in music, Dr. Arun Kumar, Head Department of Sanskrit and Tripti, a renowned Hindi writer. After the rigorous discussion Arti of Sem 3rd, Shagun of Semester 3rd and Siya of Semester 5th were awarded first, second and third prizes respectively.
Prof. Gurdyal, Dr. Davinder Kour, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Prof. Bhawana, Prof. Neha, Prof. Ritika, Dr. Chinky, Dr. Usha, Dr. Neeru, Prof. Mnjot, Dr. Arun, Prof. Vikram, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Prof. Nidhi, Dr. Anil, Prof. Arvind were present during the programme.
The event was co-ordinated and made successful by the efforts of Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Head Department of Hindi and Dr. Jyoti Rani, Assistant Professor in the Department of Hindi along with other staff members.
