Girl trafficking gang busted: 5 minor girls rescued, 4 accused held in Jammu
JAMMU, February 20: Police team of Police Station Bus stand led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar assisted by SHO PS Bus Stand Inspector Vishal Dogra while on patrolling duty received an input regarding some minor girls standing unnecessarily in the area under the jurisdiction of PS Bus Stand Jammu on Monday.
Police teams reached at the spot and during questioning of the minor girls it came to fore that the girls were being trafficked and they did not know the languages of one another.
After this police teams used the CCTV footages of the area and finally rounded up four accused later identified as Asma Akhter W/o Mohd Sameer, Rohina Akhter W/o Abdul Hameed, Mohd Rafeeq S/o Ahmed Nazir and Mohd Arif S/o Noor Mohd.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 13/2023 u/s 370 IPC got registered at PS Bus Stand and the accused got arrested. During questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the above case and on their disclosure they said that the said minor girls were being trafficked to some other place.
Minor girls were finally sent to CWC for counseling after proper medico legal formalities.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
