G&M department Samba enforces restriction on extraction of minor mineral in rainy season

SAMBA, JULY 27: The Geology & Mining Department Samba today destroyed a huge dump of sand which was illegally extracted and dumped near river bed (Basantar upstream).

This action comes keeping in view the restrictions imposed on mining of minor minerals during the rainy season and to discourage the illegal extraction, transportation and dumping of minerals without permission.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Departmental Team during  late night raids, seized three dumpers in different parts of Samba. The enforcement drive will continue in future as the district administration has adopted a zero tolerance policy against illegal mining in the district.
