GMC Rajouri hosts its first-ever medical oncology workshop
RAJOURI, April 05: Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, along with Brigadier Dr Ajay Chandra and Dr Haseeb Mughal, inaugurated a day-long CME workshop on medical oncology in the presence of various esteemed medical professionals. The event was organized by the Principal of GMC Rajouri, Dr A S Bhatia, and the MS, Dr Mehmood Hussain Bajjar, and supported by the district administration in Rajouri.
During the event, Secretary Health, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhupinder Kumar, interacted with the participants through virtual mode and stressed the importance of early detection of cancer cases. He mentioned that efforts are being made to introduce the cervical cancer vaccination in India and advised for screening for early detection of cancer cases.
Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of continuous updates and innovation in the field of medicine to address new challenges that arise on a daily basis. He also stressed the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer and praised the efforts of the medical professionals in the district who are providing the best possible care to patients.
The DC also acknowledged the support of the district administration, including the cooperation of the military, in making GMC Rajouri operational and providing quality healthcare services to the people.
The workshop was attended by medical practitioners, academicians and students. Guest speakers included Professors Dr Meenakshi Khajuria, Dr Shabnam Choudhary, Dr Rajeev Gupta, Dr Ashutosh Gupta and Dr Vishal Tandon, as well as Dr Abdul Hakim, Dr Qazi Najeeb Ahmed, Dr Kanishtha Sharma, Dr Mehmood Bajar and Dr Suhail Banday.
