GMS Tagan renamed after martyr constable Sham Lal
UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 09: In connection with the naming of Government Schools after Martyrs, a programme was organized at Govt. Middle School Tagan, Zone Kulwanta, District Udhampur.
Middle School Tagan was renamed after Martyr Constable Sham Lal who made supreme sacrifice of his life for the nation on 13.08.2004 in District Doda.
The National Anthem was played and a colorful cultural programme was also organized in this connection, where the family members of the Martyr including his wife Kamlesh Bhagat and his daughter Niharika along with the brothers of the Martyr were invited as distinguished guests on the occasion.
The programme was also attended by Designated Officer, Subash Chander Dogra, District Programme Officer Poshan Udhampur and Designated Police Officer, Manmeet Singh, SDPO Ramnagar including Tehsildar Ramnagar Satish Kumar, SHO Ramnagar, ZEO Kulwanta and the prominent citizens of the adjoining area also witnessed the programme.
DPO Poshan Udhampur along with the other dignitaries paid rich tribute to the Martyr Constable Sham Lal and also felicitated the family members of the Martyr on the occasion. The local residents thanked the administration for recognizing the services rendered by the Martyr and naming the school as Martyr Constable Sham Lal Middle School Tagan.
