Good Governance Week: DC Shopian convenes meeting of District Officers
Reviews activities, directs for intensifying activities
SHOPIAN, December 23: In connection with ‘Good Governance Week’ being celebrated from December 19 to 25, activities are going on in full swing across the district with special focus laid on disposal of public grievances and raising awareness regarding benefits under various Government welfare schemes and public services.
Meanwhile in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of District Officers to review activities taken up under this flagship programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC exhorted officers to intensify activities. He also emphasised the disposal of grievances promptly to facilitate the general masses.
With regard to Good Governance Week, the DC said the activities are aimed to improve the public services delivery mechanism across the district and achieve cent percent saturation under different individual benefit schemes, besides sensitizing people about Government initiatives by way of conducting awareness camps.
Vaishya urged the officers of all line departments to ensure benefits of welfare schemes and flagship programmes reach genuine beneficiaries particularly during the ongoing Good Governance Week.
Among others, Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, ACD and officers of line departments were present on the occasion.
